Overview/Researcher Biography

Dr Lancelot (Lance) Maphosa is an accomplished scientist with extensive experience in agricultural research. Lance has over 15 years of agricultural research experience primarily focused on agronomy, plant breeding, physiology, functional genomics and different omics technologies including phenomics in different cereal, oilseeds and legume crops. He has worked extensively in the private and public sector, on both GM and non-GM laboratory, glasshouse and field experiments. As Hy-Gain Laboratory Manager at the St Lucia campus his role involves lab management and interactions with key project stakeholders. Lance’s responsibilities include project stewardship, Intellectual Property and research management, regulation and compliance adherence, team training and ensuring accurate records are maintained.
