COMPLETE your studies with QAAFI and we'll help you to achieve your academic goals in agriculture and food science. QAAFI research projects are designed to help you develop high-level research skills in the areas of tropical and subtropical food, fibre and agri-business research. Working in modern laboratories, alongside leading researchers, successful students have the opportunity to develop important research contacts (including those in associated industries), travel for research and conferences, and gain a highly-regarded Australian qualification.

FIND A PROJECT AND RESEARCHER

Follow your passion. Search the QAAFI website for a scientist working in your area of interest. If you need more information, call the scientist and ask them to tell you more about their field or project. As you’ll see from the QAAFI website, our centres are divided into three main research areas – animal, plant, nutrition and food. Set aside some time to explore the links and read our researcher profiles. When you find an area of interest, you're welcome to contact the researcher directly.

RESEARCH HIGHER DEGREE (RHD)

Steps to applying for a research higher degree (RHD) with QAAFI:

  1. Read the procedure outlined on the UQ Graduate School website (where you will also find information regarding scholarships).

  2. Identify a QAAFI researcher who could be your potential advisor by discussing your project interests with them.

  3. For further assistance, please email us.

If the advisors you have nominated are unable to supervise you, please contact other potential advisors directly.

You may also ask Centre Directors to circulate your research interest to staff in their centre:

Centre For Plant Science
Centre for Animal Science
Centre for Nutrition and Food Sciences
